Student and the Master

Makahibe Sinaya and his prized pupil stop their daily training for a quick photo. The eccentric old man may never say it outright, but he is damn proud of his niece. She has spent the better part of a decade training under him, and she's truly become a force to be reckoned with.

It's like an itch. When I don't publish anything, it nags at me. So here. At some point I promised myself that I would only post completed stuff, but this is already such a completed work that I think I can live with it. This is the kind of stuff I have spent the last few months working on. Honing my style. Practicing muscle, proportion, all that jazz. It takes forever for me to find a subject I can actually commit to. Once I do, I just blitz through it. I have my hurdles (you can see just how much erasing and brainstorming I do), but I can usually push past them. That leap to digitizing is just so daunting though. I don't even have a color palette made for ol' Sinaya here, so that makes it even more difficult. It's likely this one will just remain a sketch.

Hope yall at least enjoy seeing a halfway done project, eraser shavings and all. Definitely don't wanna make a habit of this. I usually fix most of the mistakes with scaling/posing in post, but it's kinda hard to do that on paper <3Â
